We’re No Accident

It’s about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning and I can’t sleep. I was thinking about some things and felt I should write them down. No, nothing real enlightening or moving, just thoughts.

Well, I was pondering how easy it is for us to look at a nice car or anything actually and we’ll marvel at the technology and the fact that the car didn’t happen by accident. A lot of thought by pretty smart people designed every obvious part and every part unseen and then folks assembled all that stuff and the result is what we behold. Not a doubt in our mind that the machine was built by relatively intelligent people.

I thought that how easy it is for us to accept the simplest reasoning like the above yet we have such a difficult time accepting that something most likely much smarter than us designed and put together the entire universe. Or on a much smaller scale, we consider the earth and the absolute marvelous way animals, insects, plants, times and seasons all work together to support life. And then there’s us … humans. What a very cool creation. All the skeletal, muscles, tissue, etc. all put together and then the best of all … the breath of life. We’re no accident, something developed all this stuff, just like the car.

If the car in the second paragraph has one flaw, if the timing is off or any number of things don’t work together it isn’t going to run. It’s the same with the earth … temperature just several degrees too cold … too hot, not enough CO2 for plants to survive … not enough oxygen from plants for humans to survive … the pollination cycles, etc. and the natural order of all things on the earth could never have happened by accident. The perfect balance didn’t happen by chance. The more I think about it, the more I know God is real, and folks, I’m not afraid of much … but know of a certainty, I’m terrified of the judgment from such a mighty and intelligent God.

Gotta try to get a couple hours of sleep.
